Head of Biology

Responsibilities

• Lead the Biology department and inspire both students and colleagues to develop a passion for the subject
• Deliver outstanding teaching and set high expectations for student achievement
• Lead the planning and development of the Biology curriculum
• Line manage team members and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture
• Use data and assessment to drive student progress
• Support students with university pathways and contribute to the wider school life through pastoral care and extracurricular activities

Requirements

• Qualified Biology teacher
• Proven experience teaching up to A Level
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• A clear understanding of outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment practices
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching the IBDP curriculum
