Head of Bids - Water

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end bid and proposals function across all opportunity types, including major capital programmes and DPC schemes
• Develop and implement bid strategies aligned with business growth and AMP8/9 regulatory cycles
• Oversee the development of high-quality, compliant, and compelling submissions
• Coordinate multidisciplinary bid teams including commercial, technical, and engineering specialists
• Own and champion the organization’s CRM system to ensure high-quality pipeline information and data-led decision-making
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing bid team
• Monitor market intelligence and competitor activity to support strategic decision-making

Requirements

• Significant experience in bid leadership within the UK water sector (capital delivery, infrastructure, or engineering)
• Proven track record of winning bids with UK water companies or regulated utility clients
• Strong understanding of capital delivery models, procurement routes, and AMP cycles
• Strong commercial understanding and experience shaping technical and commercial solutions
• Proficiency with CRM systems and experience driving system adoption
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DPC schemes or major infrastructure procurement models
• Formal bid management qualifications such as APMP or equivalent
• Experience implementing or optimising CRM and pipeline processes
