About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations for assembly and paint to deliver excellence in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCEP).
- Drive production excellence by executing production plans to meet output and quality targets with optimal resource utilization.
- Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and Volvo Production System initiatives to enhance productivity and eliminate waste.
- Build a strong safety and quality culture, ensuring ISO compliance and customer focus across all operations.
- Monitor KPIs and track line performance to implement corrective actions and achieve business goals.
- Develop, coach, and engage teams through capability building and high employee engagement strategies.
- Oversee maintenance planning to ensure equipment reliability and maximum uptime.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and P&C to improve efficiency.
Requirements
- 13–16 years of experience in automotive or construction equipment production, specifically with heavy machinery like Excavators or Loaders.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, 7 QC Tools, Kaizen, and Poka-yoke.
- Proficiency in digital tools including Excel dashboards and Power BI for performance management.
- Deep understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Experience managing a unionized workforce and handling wage settlements.
- Strong understanding of ISO and HIRA practices.
- Ability to manage shop floor discipline and workforce planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in speaking Kannada is an added advantage.
- Experience with automation and digitalization in a manufacturing environment.
