Head of APAC & MENA Testing & Monitoring

Responsibilities

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for testing and monitoring across the APAC and MENA regions.
• Lead risk-based desk and thematic reviews, including scoping, testing, reporting, and communicating findings to senior stakeholders.
• Implement the regional Compliance Monitoring plan in collaboration with the global Compliance Assurance Team.
• Assist in the production of the Annual Compliance Assurance Plan with a specific focus on APAC and MENA.
• Validate remediation actions to ensure effective completion of identified issues.
• Build collaborative relationships within the global Compliance function and support regional assurance activities.
• Support the wider team with ad-hoc activities such as regulatory information requests, investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Coach, mentor, and develop junior staff members.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Compliance Monitoring, Assurance, Advisory, or Audit roles within regulated financial institutions in APAC and/or MENA.
• In-depth knowledge of regional regulatory requirements, including market abuse regulations.
• Proven experience working effectively within a global team environment.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to build professional relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and experience using various IT systems and databases.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Structured Products, Exchange Traded Derivatives, or OTC Derivatives.
• Experience or a strong interest in data analytics and AI applications within compliance.
