Head of AI Research

Responsibilities

• Define the research agenda at the intersection of AI reliability, agentic systems, and enterprise trust
• Pioneer agentic architectures for orchestration, task planning, and multi-step reasoning
• Advance memory and retrieval approaches for context management and knowledge representation
• Build evaluation frameworks and benchmarks for agent quality and reliability
• Ship research to production systems used by top financial institutions
• Build and lead the research team by hiring exceptional researchers
• Publish and represent Kepler at top venues like NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR
• Collaborate with founders on technical strategy and product direction

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field
• 5+ years in AI/ML research focusing on LLMs, agents, or retrieval systems
• Strong publication record at top venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL)
• Experience shipping research to production systems with real users
• Expertise in transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, or RAG
• Experience building and leading research teams
• Strong communication skills to translate research into product implications

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of memory-augmented systems
• Ability to identify technically interesting and practically important problems
