Head of Agile Management and R&D

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the strategic direction for the R&D Agile Management department in coordination with the Machine Tools leadership team.
• Drive innovative concepts in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation, and intelligent manufacturing technologies.
• Provide disciplinary and functional leadership to Agile Managers, supporting their professional development through regular feedback and coaching.
• Optimize agile methods and development processes for complex technical products using key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure transparency and efficiency.
• Manage resources, budgets, and regular reporting to executive management and the global Agile Management network.
• Foster cross-site collaboration and networking between R&D, system architecture, governance, and various technology sectors.

Requirements

• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Production Technology, or a similar field.
• Proven leadership experience within technology-oriented R&D organizations.
• Deep knowledge of agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban, including practical implementation experience.
• Strong experience in Change Management and the ability to navigate complex organizational transformations.
• Excellent communication and moderation skills with fluency in both German and English.
• Analytical thinking, strategic foresight, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Willingness to travel to support international collaboration.
