Head of Accounting & Control

Responsibilities

• Own the general ledger and end-to-end record-to-report process for the Nordic region
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all Nordic entities
• Manage statutory reporting and group reporting under US GAAP
• Ensure balance sheet integrity through documented reconciliations
• Strengthen financial control environments and ensure compliance with local regulations and SOX requirements
• Act as the primary point of contact for statutory, group, and internal audits
• Build, lead, and develop the accounting and control team across the Nordics
• Partner with FP&A, tax, and finance operations to support senior stakeholders

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or Nordic equivalent)
• Several years of experience in accounting, controllership, or financial reporting
• Proven experience leading and developing teams
• Experience working in multi-entity and multi-country environments
• Proficiency in English and one Nordic language (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, or Finnish)
• Solid knowledge of both local GAAP and US GAAP
• Strong understanding of financial controls, risk, and SOX
• Experience with ERP systems (MS Dynamics preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a US-owned, private equity-backed, or multinational company
• Background in audit, such as from a Big 4 environment
• Experience working across the Nordic region
