Head of Academy

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management to secure high-quality teaching and learning to raise standards of achievement
• Shape and lead the academy's vision, ensuring every student reaches their full potential
• Foster a positive ethos reflecting a commitment to high achievement and effective relationships
• Ensure the curriculum promotes students' spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development
• Manage academy resources, staff, and accommodation efficiently to support educational outcomes
• Maintain rigorous review of effectiveness and build strong links with the wider community

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a Degree, and relevant professional studies
• NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) or a relevant further degree
• Proven track record of school improvement and raising attainment in urban, multi-ethnic environments
• Extensive leadership experience, ideally within a Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
• Expertise in curriculum development, monitoring, and evaluation strategies
• Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire staff, students, and parents

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in leading school transformations
• Readiness to progress towards Executive Principalship via NPQEL
