Head Nurse

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the nursing team to ensure high standards of care
• Assist the veterinary team and physiotherapist during consultations, surgeries, and recoveries
• Manage anesthetic nursing, including induction and recovery processes
• Oversee patient admission, discharge, and medical nursing care
• Perform clinical tasks such as catheter placement, blood draws, and basic laboratory analysis
• Conduct radiology and diagnostic imaging
• Monitor hospitalized patients and boarded pets
• Manage clinic operations, including staff scheduling and protocol implementation
• Provide excellent customer service during clinic consultations

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of professional nursing experience
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
• Valid veterinary nursing license or certification
• Expertise in clinical care and small animal handling
• Proven experience in clinic operations and staff scheduling
• Proficiency in diagnostic imaging, basic orthopedic surgery, and dentistry
• Proficiency in sportive medicine and ophthalmology
• Strong communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills
