About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of assigned aquatics facilities
- Assist with opening, closing, and patron counts
- Ensure proper rotation of lifeguards
- Maintain cleanliness of areas and assist with basic pump room tasks
- Communicate effectively with the public and staff
- Assist with in-service training
- Coordinate substitutes and report to the Aquatics Coordinator/Director
- Uphold all safety standards and YMCA policies
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certification
- One summer season of work experience
- Demonstrated swimming ability
- Ability to pass reference checks, criminal background check, sex offender check, and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
- YMCA or ARC Lifeguard Training
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (ASHI or ARC)
- First Aid (ASHI or ARC)
- Oxygen Administration (ASHI or ARC)
