Responsibilities

• Guard the swim area and monitor for safety concerns
• Oversee lifeguard operations at the waterfront
• Run skills checks and lead in-service training for lifeguards and observers
• Track equipment and water conditions while keeping supplies organized
• Communicate safety standards and support waterfront staff coaching
• Assist campers with waterfront information and questions
• Lead camp activities when the swimming hole is closed

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• At least 2 years of lifeguard experience
• Lifeguard certification or ability to obtain certification
• Strong leadership and clear communication skills
• Organized, safety-mindful, and calm in emergency situations
• Ability to enforce rules in a kind and clear manner
• Dependable and hardworking team player
