Head, Department of Health Systems, Policy and Economics

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the newly created Department of Health Systems, Policy and Economics, shaping its strategic direction, governance, and academic identity.
• Provide senior academic leadership to advance research performance, educational excellence, and external engagement.
• Drive innovative teaching programs and foster integration between research, teaching, and graduate research supervision.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships across government, health services, research institutes, industry, and international collaborators.
• Contribute to School, Faculty, and University-wide decision-making as a member of the School Executive.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing, and accountable departmental culture.

Requirements

• Professor or Associate Professor rank.
• Internationally recognised research record in health systems, health policy, health economics, or a closely related discipline.
• Substantial academic leadership experience within complex research-intensive or health environments.
• Proven success in securing competitive research funding.
• Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships across academia, government, and industry.
• Ability to lead people through change and translate evidence into impactful health system outcomes.
