Head Dance Coach

Responsibilities

• Direct instruction of student-athletes regarding the skills and strategies necessary for collegiate-level dance and cheer competition.
• Plan and coordinate team travel arrangements, including logistics, equipment, and transportation.
• Conduct comprehensive recruiting activities and coordinate with the Admissions Office to establish academic eligibility and financial aid.
• Ensure strict compliance with all NAIA and NCAA rules, regulations, and university policies, including Title IX.
• Manage program finances, including budget preparation, purchasing, and fundraising efforts in coordination with the advancement office.
• Oversee relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as booster clubs and media.
• Promote the program through public relations, marketing, and promotional events for home contests.
• Support student-athlete academic success and insist on exemplary behavior both on campus and in public.

Requirements

• Extensive coaching experience at either the high school or college level.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and a safe driving record (ability to drive a 15-passenger van).
• Knowledge of NCAA and NAIA rules and regulations.
• Ability to demonstrate appropriate technical dance skills during practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• Previous collegiate head coaching experience.
• Experience playing the sport at a high level (collegiate or professional).
