Head Cook

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance with established menus and Canada Food Guide standards
• Supervise, mentor, and train kitchen support staff
• Manage food orders, including receiving, checking, and storing supplies
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation for all kitchen surfaces, freezers, and equipment
• Develop staff work schedules in conjunction with the Hospitality Manager
• Maintain accurate inventory records for food and kitchen supplies
• Ensure strict compliance with all food safety, health, and sanitary regulations

Requirements

• Completion of a formal post-secondary or college program (minimum one academic year)
• Valid Safe Food Handling Certification
• Ability to pass a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector search
• Minimum of one year of institutional cooking experience
• Strong knowledge of nutrition and sanitary regulations
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs without assistance
• Ability to work in a commercial kitchen environment with varying temperatures and timeline pressures
