Head Coach, Wrestling

Responsibilities

• Lead the wrestling program, including practice and match preparation, implementation of match strategies, and scouting responsibilities
• Recruit potential student-athletes and develop a comprehensive recruiting plan to meet roster requirements
• Instruct student-athletes in proper technique, skill development, physical health, and team building
• Monitor the wrestling budget, including travel plans and equipment purchases
• Oversee the academic progress of student-athletes and collaborate with campus services to ensure proper counseling and assistance
• Direct and evaluate assistant coaches
• Ensure program compliance with all NCAA and GMAC rules and regulations
• Represent the athletic department at various functions, including fundraising and game management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Proven ability to impart sport-specific wrestling knowledge and technique
• Demonstrated recruitment skills and ability to evaluate prospective student-athletes
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Ability to travel extensively for recruiting, matches, and tournaments
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Previous coaching or playing experience at the collegiate level
• Knowledge of nutrition, weight training, and current coaching methods
