About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee all coaching and leadership aspects of a sideline and competitive cheer program.
- Plan, develop, and conduct all in-season and off-season practices and conditioning sessions.
- Manage recruitment efforts in accordance with university and NAIA rules to maintain a roster of approximately 15 student-athletes.
- Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and enforce team rules.
- Handle administrative duties including budget management, equipment maintenance, and coordination of travel, lodging, and food.
- Ensure all safety guidelines and standards are strictly maintained during practices and competitions.
- Represent the athletic department and university professionally at internal and external functions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of cheer coaching experience.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including sitting, walking, bending, and stooping.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to support and uphold the Catholic and Franciscan values of the University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of collegiate cheer coaching experience.
