Head Cheer Coach

Responsibilities

• Oversee all coaching and leadership aspects of a sideline and competitive cheer program.
• Plan, develop, and conduct all in-season and off-season practices and conditioning sessions.
• Manage recruitment efforts in accordance with university and NAIA rules to maintain a roster of approximately 15 student-athletes.
• Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and enforce team rules.
• Handle administrative duties including budget management, equipment maintenance, and coordination of travel, lodging, and food.
• Ensure all safety guidelines and standards are strictly maintained during practices and competitions.
• Represent the athletic department and university professionally at internal and external functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of cheer coaching experience.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including sitting, walking, bending, and stooping.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to support and uphold the Catholic and Franciscan values of the University.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Three years of collegiate cheer coaching experience.
