Head Cheer Coach

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes using sound principles in skill development, training, and strategy to achieve competitive success.
• Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes to maintain a minimum of 50 athletes across game and competitive squads.
• Oversee assistant coaches, including assigning duties, supervising work, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Manage the program budget, including yearly submissions to the Athletic Director and monitoring all team expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, Conference, and USA Cheer regulations and bylaws.
• Provide spiritual guidance and instruction to promote positive values, self-discipline, and character consistent with CBU's mission.
• Organize cheer clinics, home showcases, and various fundraising, marketing, and promotion activities.
• Supervise the team during all practices, training sessions, games, and extracurricular activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or 5-6 years of related experience and/or training.
• Demonstrated knowledge of coaching theory and techniques.
• Thorough understanding of NCAA and Conference regulations.
• Ability to travel, including domestic and international air travel.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to uphold the University’s Christ-centered mission and values.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Knowledge in the care and prevention of athletic injuries.
