Head Bartender

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and develop the bar team to ensure high-quality service
• Oversee daily bar operations and ensure efficient service delivery
• Develop and curate creative cocktail menus and beverage programmes
• Manage bar inventory, stock levels, and supplier coordination
• Enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards in the bar area
• Drive revenue through upselling premium products and themed promotions
• Manage daily cash handling, payments, and financial reporting
• Plan and coordinate special bar events and promotions

Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years in a supervisory role within bar operations
• Experience in high-end bar, restaurant, or luxury hospitality environments
• Extensive knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines, and cocktail preparation
• Grade 12 minimum
• Qualification in hospitality management or Business Administration
• Valid authorization to work in South Africa

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional bartending or mixology certifications
• Beverage industry certifications
