Head, Access & Tech Services

Responsibilities

• Manage all functions of the Law Library Access and Technical Services Department
• Participate in budget development, oversee invoicing, and manage fund accounting
• Provide oversight for bibliographic services, collection maintenance, and quality control
• Manage the Special Collections room and digital content collections
• Supervise assigned staff and prepare departmental activity reports
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited school
• Five years of professional experience
• Solid knowledge of technical services or collection management in an academic, research, law, or special library setting
• Experience with library automation systems
• Experience and training in OCLC copy and original cataloging
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Law Library technical services department
• Experience with acquisitions, serials, cataloging, and reporting functions of Library Automation Systems
• Experience managing the receipt, cataloging, and maintenance of legal materials
• Three years of supervisory experience
