About the role

Responsibilities

  • Foster an outstanding student experience by facilitating high-quality, student-centred learning activities at the undergraduate level.
  • Support learning outcomes through technology-enhanced, problem-oriented, and authentic assessment practices.
  • Establish positive, respectful, and supportive relationships between staff and students.
  • Promote the research/teaching nexus to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection.
  • Act as a course convenor at the undergraduate level with support from senior academic staff.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Griffith University HDR program post-confirmation.
  • At least two trimesters of prior teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach in the Criminology and Criminal Justice area.
  • Proficiency in using Canvas or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas to a diverse student audience.
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia (visa sponsorship is not available).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing teaching materials and delivering lectures and tutorials.
  • Strong organizational skills to balance teaching duties with research commitments.
  • Commitment to seeking recognition through the Advance HE Professional Standards Framework.
