Hazwoper Laborer

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand-tools and equipment, absorbent booms and pads to contain and remediate impacted surfaces, soils and waters
• Operate light and heavy equipment including pumps, vacuum, oil spill boom, generators, bobcats, etc.
• Perform emergency response activities including chemical and water spills, etiological and biological contamination, tank cleaning, and equipment decontamination
• Meet a 12 hour night or day shift work schedule with dependability and consistency
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience with pump watch, setting up gabion walls and sediment removal
• Ability to perform labor intensive activities in any weather or environmental conditions
• Reliable local transportation
• Ability to perform duties while adhering to safety priorities while wearing PPE, such as respirators and protective clothing
• Current 40 Hour Hazwoper Certificate
• Valid Driver's License
• Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Training

Preferred Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• OSHA 30
