Hazardous Waste Process Planner Chemist

Responsibilities

• Evaluate incoming hazardous waste receipts for processing and assign appropriate processing codes
• Use chemical knowledge to ensure safe handling and protection of plant employees
• Evaluate chemical reactivity and compatibility to determine processing methods such as batching or repackaging
• Maintain and update reactive databases and waste profiles
• Monitor hazardous waste inventory to ensure processing within designated time parameters
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports to ensure effective and efficient burn plans

Requirements

• BS in Chemistry or a related discipline
• Strong chemical background
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in the hazardous waste industry
• Familiarity with EPA regulations including RCRA, TSCA, PFOS, and HFC chemicals
• Extensive knowledge in processing methodologies
