Hatchery Laborer

Responsibilities

• Handle and set eggs in incubators according to established procedures
• Monitor incubation conditions including temperature, humidity, and ventilation
• Assist with chick hatching, transfer, and vaccination processes
• Perform quality checks on eggs and chicks to maintain biosecurity standards
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas to meet safety and sanitation guidelines
• Record and maintain accurate data on egg counts, hatch rates, and chick quality
• Push and pull heavy buggies (up to 450 lbs on wheels) containing chicks and eggs

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to work in high-temperature environments (100+°F) and tolerate odors
• Ability to perform continuous physical activity and repetitive lifting/pushing of 100 lbs or more
• Must not raise any poultry or birds
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow simple instructions
• Must be a reliable team player

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the poultry or food industry
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
