About the role
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a diverse team of mechanical, avionics, and manufacturing engineers
- Perform requirements development and maturation for wire harnesses
- Manage wire harness architecture, layout, and design
- Create production drawings and collaborate with machine shops to ensure manufacturability
- Coordinate procurement with internal and external suppliers
- Develop harness specifications and test procedures
- Oversee harness installation and functional testing
- Support manufacturing technicians with troubleshooting
- Support test planning, failure analysis, and hardware/software qualification
- Optimize packaging processes to improve yield and reliability
- Prepare and present content for design and test readiness reviews
Requirements
- Experience with electronics/avionics harness design and construction
- Experience with hands-on fabrication in an aerospace environment
- Experience transitioning prototype programs into Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP)
- Ability to read and interpret wire schematic drawings
- Experience with technical aerospace work and vendor management
- Experience with risk management and critical path workflow
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or SolidWorks)
- Proficiency in MS Office/365 and configuration management systems (JIRA, GIT, JAMA)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability & Assembly (DFMA)
- Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- Experience with hypersonic, supersonic, or air-launched vehicle development
- Experience with composite structures design and manufacturing
- Proficiency with Capital Software Suite (Zuken, Altium, Rapid Harness)
- Active security clearance
