Harness Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define harnessing design including routing, component selection, and manufacturing processes
• Perform detailed design of both flight and test harnesses
• Work with production technicians and A&Ps to build and install harnesses on aircraft
• Design, install, and test hardware on remotely operated aircraft
• Collaborate with avionics, mechanical, and integration teams

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
• 2+ years of experience in electrical harness design
• Ability to route harnessing in CAD and physically within an aircraft
• Experience with connectors, backshells, EMI shielding, and cable/wire protection methods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience defining routing and bulkhead requirements
• Experience with NX routing and Capital Harness Designer
• Experience with aerospace flight harness design trades
• Experience working with safety-critical hardware
• Experience on certification-path aviation development projects
• Experience testing hardware to DO-160 requirements
