About the role

Responsibilities

  • Set up, assemble, configure, and bring up hardware test systems for autonomy programs
  • Execute test plans, collect results, and document findings for hardware iteration
  • Integrate new hardware components like sensors, compute, and actuator interfaces
  • Fabricate, route, and assemble wire harnesses from engineering schematics
  • Diagnose hardware issues using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and CAN analyzers
  • Document failure modes and reproduction steps for root cause analysis
  • Assist with hardware retrofits and updates on autonomous machine fleets
  • Maintain lab organization, tool calibration, and ESD protocol adherence
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers on prototype bring-up

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a hardware or electronics technician in R&D, robotics, automotive, or aerospace
  • Experience with hardware test systems or electro-mechanical prototype assemblies
  • Proficiency in wire harness fabrication including crimping and connector assembly
  • Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, multimeters, and CAN/LIN bus analyzers
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
  • Willingness to travel to active construction field sites up to 20%
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in tight equipment spaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at an autonomous vehicle, robotics, or ADAS company
  • Familiarity with LiDAR, radar, cameras, and IMUs
  • Knowledge of automotive protocols like CAN FD, Ethernet, GMSL, or LIN
  • Working knowledge of Linux/shell environments
  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Electronics or Mechatronics
