Hardware Sustaining Lead

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for production, including debug and repair facilities and manufacturing test equipment
• Conduct technical investigations ranging from field-reported issues to production yield improvements
• Support R&D teams with test setups and Python scripting to automate testing
• Debug and test new embedded products and enhance existing embedded hardware
• Champion test automation initiatives and assist in process improvements
• Generate accurate user and design documentation and contribute to manufacturing technical data packages

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Technologist Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
• 10+ years of board-level development and hands-on lab experience
• Strong understanding of electronics and engineering principles applied to real-world use
• Proven experience in test automation using Python
• Strong debug and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hardware test equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
• Familiarity with high-speed digital circuit board design and signal integrity concepts
• Experience with CAD tools and electronics soldering
• Knowledge of VME, VPX, compact PCI, PCIe, or RapidIO
• Experience with embedded platforms like Raspberry Pi or Arduino
