Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and identify root causes of hardware and system failures including power distribution, embedded compute, and sensor subsystems
  • Perform end-to-end failure analysis at component, module, and system levels
  • Use bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers to characterize signals and validate fixes
  • Read schematics and block diagrams to understand circuit behavior
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Manufacturing teams
  • Support bring-up and testing of new hardware revisions
  • Act as a technical point of contact for customer-reported issues
  • Write and maintain repair runbooks, failure analysis reports, and troubleshooting guides
  • Supervise and drive supplier failure analyses

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in hardware failure analysis, field service, or hardware debug
  • Experience in robotics, automotive, automation, or consumer electronics
  • Hands-on experience with electronic or electromechanical systems
  • Understanding of hardware failure modes like fracture, solder cracking, and corrosion
  • Ability to read schematics and electrical block diagrams
  • Proficiency with bench tools: oscilloscope, multimeter, and logic analyzer
  • Familiarity with serial communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, I²C, SPI, or UART)
  • Comfort working in a Linux command line environment
  • Strong written communication skills for technical documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms or embedded Linux bring-up
  • Experience with IP networking and Ethernet-based embedded systems
  • PCB rework experience and familiarity with Altium
  • Experience with mechanical CAD tools like CATIA or SolidWorks
  • Experience with material testing systems like Instron
  • Prior customer-facing technical support or field service experience
