Hardware R&D Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and innovate new 3D printing techniques and printer architectures
• Work across multidisciplinary teams to implement product improvements, such as redesigning support structure algorithms
• Evaluate current printer performance to identify areas for optimization
• Design and execute experiments, using data-driven results to inform hardware or software developments
• Tackle complex, open-ended problems across multiple engineering disciplines

Requirements

• Engineering portfolio of previous work/projects is required
• Experience with experiment design and data analysis
• Proficiency in programming and scientific computing, ideally Python or Matlab
• Familiarity with mechanical design, mechatronics, CAD modeling, and hands-on prototyping
• Ability to develop physics-based models of complex systems
• Willingness to question assumptions and back decisions with data

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working on a consumer product
