About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for autonomous robotic vehicles by developing deep familiarity with the entire system
  • Deliver vehicle integration support including designing, prototyping, and installing proof-of-concept systems and sensors
  • Guide the vehicle through its lifecycle from initial build-out to operational shakedown testing
  • Construct and engineer test benches to validate mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software systems
  • Create and maintain documentation for vehicle integration and assembly procedures
  • Employ root cause analysis to troubleshoot vehicle systems, computer components, and sensors
  • Manage and scale component provisioning and validation efforts for expanding fleets
  • Collaborate across teams to satisfy provisioning and validation requirements

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 4+ years of technical experience focused on autonomous hardware and software systems
  • Hands-on experience with LiDAR, RADAR, GPS, and cameras
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and datasheets
  • Experience with soldering, crimping, and cable management
  • Familiarity with CNC, machining, metal working, welding, and 3D printers
  • Proficiency in electromechanical repair and maintenance
  • Strong 3D modeling skills (CAD, Solidworks, Onshape or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Python, ROS, and Linux
  • Familiarity with programming microcontrollers/microprocessors
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as DRONECAN, CAN, or UART
  • Experience flashing software/firmware updates on hardware
  • Experience with low-volume manufacturing in automotive, drone, or robotics industries
