Hardware Integration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for autonomous vehicles by building deep familiarity with all system aspects
• Provide vehicle integration support by designing, prototyping, and installing proof-of-concept systems and sensors
• Lead vehicle support from build-out phase through delivery, including final bring-up and shakedown testing
• Design and build test benches to validate mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software systems
• Develop and own documentation related to vehicle integration
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for vehicle systems, computer components, and sensors
• Minimize vehicle downtime while maintaining a focus on safety

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical, electrical, or a related field
• 1+ years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, automotive, or robotics industries
• Experience working with AV components such as Lidars, Radars, and Cameras
• Previous experience with low volume manufacturing in automotive or robotics
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and datasheets
• Experience documenting and maintaining detailed assembly procedures
• Experience using shop equipment, 3D printers, and automotive diagnostic tools
• Experience with CNC, machining, metal working, and welding
• Experience with automotive repair and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with CAD or SolidWorks design processes
• Familiarity with Python or other programming languages
• Familiarity with ROS and Linux OS
• Familiarity with programming microcontrollers/microprocessors
