Hardware Integration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for autonomous vehicles by building deep familiarity with all aspects of the system
• Provide vehicle integration support by designing, prototyping, and installing proof-of-concept sensor systems
• Lead the vehicle lifecycle from build-out phase through delivery, including final bring-up and shakedown testing
• Design and build test benches to validate mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software systems
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for vehicle systems, computer components, and sensors
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation regarding vehicle integration and assembly procedures
• Work to minimize vehicle downtime while maintaining a strict focus on safety

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical, electrical, or a related field
• 1+ years of technical experience in robotics, automotive, or a related industry
• Hands-on experience with AV components including Lidar, Radar, and Cameras
• Proven ability to read and understand electrical schematics and datasheets
• Experience using shop equipment, 3D printers, and automotive diagnostic tools
• Practical experience with CNC, machining, metal working, or welding
• Experience with automotive repair and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with CAD or SolidWorks design processes
• Experience with low-volume manufacturing in the automotive or robotics industry
• Proficiency with Python or other programming languages
• Familiarity with ROS, Linux OS, and programming microcontrollers/microprocessors
