About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage and scale a growing fleet of HIL rigs running on ARM and x86 architectures
  • Integrate, test, and maintain HIL solutions involving third-party hardware and sUAS platforms
  • Design and build simulators integrated with HIL hardware and flight stack software like ArduPilot or PX4
  • Configure and manage firmware across various flight controllers and auxiliary hardware
  • Develop automation scripts in Python or Bash for system provisioning and fleet monitoring
  • Design custom wiring harnesses and interface boards to bridge sensors, networking, and simulation hosts
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware-software integration issues, including timing and serial communication faults

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing complex hardware systems on ARM and x86 architectures
  • Strong proficiency in Linux command line for system configuration and troubleshooting
  • Deep understanding of IP networking (TCP/UDP, routing, subnets)
  • Hands-on hardware debugging experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
  • Solid understanding of embedded communication interfaces including UART, I2C, SPI, and CAN
  • Experience writing robust automation and infrastructure scripts in Python or Bash
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines that interact directly with hardware test benches

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Group 1-3 sUAS hardware and Pixhawk flight controllers
  • Familiarity with ArduPilot and PX4 open-source flight stack software
  • Working knowledge of MAVLink, ROS, ROS 2, or DDS
  • Experience developing applications for Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as RT-Linux or NuttX
