Hardware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Select and evaluate off-the-shelf hardware modules including compute, cameras, radios, power management, and sensors
• Analyze datasheets to design integrations respecting power, thermal, signal, and mechanical interfaces
• Author and execute test plans for NPI gate reviews (PROTO, EVT, DVT, PVT)
• Execute stress and margin tests to ensure long-term reliability in harsh outdoor environments
• Lead hardware triage and systematic root cause analysis (RCA) for engineering builds and field deployments
• Use lab instrumentation like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to isolate failure mechanisms
• Define acceptance criteria and transfer test methodologies to contract manufacturers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5+ years of professional hardware engineering experience
• Strong EE fundamentals in power, signal integrity, and thermal behavior
• Demonstrated ability to debug hardware issues at the system level using lab equipment
• Hands-on NPI experience through multiple EVT-to-PVT cycles
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for RCA reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering familiarity
• Knowledge of reliability engineering (MTBF, HALT/HASS)
• Experience with harsh-environment or industrial applications
• Familiarity with cellular/LTE, Wi-Fi, or wireless module integration
• Exposure to camera systems or vision hardware
• Experience with contract manufacturers and production yield improvement
• Ability to write automated test scripts in Python
