Hardware Engineer

Nidus is building autonomous manufacturing systems powered by AI and robotics. We are building the intelligence layer that lets machines run autonomously, helping manufacturers scale production through smarter systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration efforts between robotic arms, grippers, sensors, and manufacturing equipment
• Own the entire assembly, including electronics, sensors, and mechanical components
• Support deployment of systems to customer facilities and provide technical guidance during installation and commissioning
• Stay current with emerging technologies in robotics, additive manufacturing, and automated manufacturing systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and development
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
• Experience with stress/strain analysis
• Experience with mechanical design for robotic systems, including kinematics, dynamics, and structural analysis
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, 3D printing, and assembly techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with polymers and carbon fiber material properties and manufacturing processes
• Experience with force-controlled robotic systems, collaborative robots (cobots) and dual-arm robotic systems
• Knowledge of sensor integration and mechatronics
