Hardware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, specify, and implement electrical architectures for new product development and multi-stage integrated robotic systems
• Focus on mixed signal design of embedded systems, including schematic and board layout and PCBA testing
• Perform rapid prototyping and integration of electrical systems at both system and board levels
• Specify and select electrical components such as power supplies, servo drives, sensors, and safety systems
• Optimize power consumption, power budgeting, and transmission loss for underwater ROVs
• Participate in debugging and root cause analysis for hardware and software defects
• Interface with manufacturing teams to enhance design for test, manufacturing, and assembly
• Manage product documentation, training, and tracking of product issues

Requirements

• Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related Engineering
• 3-5 years of industry experience in a professional, product-driven environment
• Experience in designing and board bring-up of BLDC motors
• Strong domain knowledge in Power and Mixed signal electronics
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using EDA packages like Altium, OrCAD, or KiCAD
• Practical experience designing circuits for embedded systems and power electronics
• Hands-on experience with board bring-up and hardware testing
• Knowledge of interfacing actuators and sensors using protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN, RS485, RS232, or USB
• Understanding of PCB layout and design techniques for EMC compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the end-to-end product development life cycle
• Previous experience with robotics projects or robotics competitions
