About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and develop capital equipment medical devices with a strong focus on analog design principles.
- Apply electrical engineering principles to the analysis and design of complex medical device systems.
- Create test plans, collect data, analyze results, and write detailed engineering reports.
- Support New Product Development and R&D teams regarding compliance with IEC 60601-1 and other applicable standards.
- Design schematics and layouts for prototyping and develop test code for fixtures.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, including BOM structures and Design Outputs, within Windchill.
- Resolve complex technical problems by identifying root causes to prevent re-occurrence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related engineering field.
- At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in analog/digital design, schematic capture, layout, and simulation.
- Solid fundamental understanding of analog and digital circuits.
- Proficiency in soldering and de-soldering techniques for prototype board assembly.
- Proficiency with measurement techniques and concepts relevant to RF applications (e.g., VNA measurements, impedance matching).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work within a quality management system.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with capital equipment medical devices.
- Proficiency with PCB schematic, layout, and simulation tools such as Altium and PSpice.
- Understanding of high-speed signal integrity and EMI mitigation techniques.
- Experience with FPGA hardware design and HDL programming (e.g., Verilog).
- Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
