Hardware Design Engineer Intern

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in creating, reviewing, and updating electronic schematics for digital and analog circuits
• Research and identify suitable electronic components based on performance, cost, and availability
• Help create and maintain schematic symbol libraries and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Participate in the initial power-up and functional testing of new PCB prototypes
• Assist in troubleshooting and debugging hardware issues using lab equipment
• Perform basic soldering and rework on PCBs to implement design changes
• Contribute to the creation of design specifications, test procedures, and technical reports

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.E. / B.Tech in ECE or a related field (Final or Pre-final year)
• Solid understanding of fundamental analog and digital electronics, including op-amps, transistors, and logic gates
• Basic experience with a schematic capture tool such as Altium Designer, OrCAD/Cadence Allegro, or KiCad
• Hands-on experience using standard lab equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PCB layout design
• Proficient soldering skills for both through-hole and surface-mount components
• Familiarity with common communication protocols like SPI, I2C, and UART
