Hardware Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and design electronic units for flight and ground equipment across various space business sectors including launchers, Earth exploration, and telecommunications satellites.
• Perform architecture analysis at the electronic function or module level.
• Execute detailed electronics design based on electrical simulations.
• Ensure design robustness through part stress analysis, worst-case analysis, failure modes and criticality analysis (FMECA), and power budget analysis.
• Support the Radiation Team to ensure design robustness within the space environment, including Single Event Effects (SEE).
• Conduct laboratory and prototype testing and define board test procedures.
• Support the PCB CAD team by reviewing PCB layouts and assist the Packaging Team with mechanical and thermal design robustness.
• Participate in main project reviews such as Requirement Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review.
• Assist the Test Team with the acceptance of flight equipment and resolve Non-conformance Reports (NCRs).

Requirements

• Master's degree in an engineering or science discipline.
• Proven experience in the development of Power, Analog, or Digital electronics.
• Proficiency with advanced laboratory instrumentation.
• Knowledge of design methodologies and tools such as Mentor, LTSpice, Matlab, or SIMetrix-SIMPLIS.
• Mid-level proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Strong mathematical foundation for electronic design analysis.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Digital mindset including automation of tasks, scripting, and use of digital design tools.
• Knowledge of space environment constraints and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience with digital control techniques for Power & Analog electronics.
• Experience with hardware-software interfaces for Digital electronics.
• Proficiency in fast prototyping techniques.
