Handling Qualities Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as an integrator between Aerodynamics, Performance, Loads, and Modelling domains to ensure aircraft handling qualities meet required standards.
• Perform sizing of control surfaces and validate handling qualities and stability requirements.
• Define the flight envelope, including minimum speeds and angle-of-attack protection, in collaboration with cockpit systems and operational teams.
• Evaluate aircraft behavior in the event of system failures.
• Contribute to the development of new aircraft, incremental developments, and Research & Technology (R&T) projects.
• Prepare dossiers for certification and maintain fleet airworthiness.
• Support flight safety assessments and initiatives to upgrade safety standards.

Requirements

• Degree in aeronautical engineering or an equivalent field.
• Strong knowledge of flight mechanics and flight dynamics.
• Knowledge of aerodynamics or aircraft performance.
• Proficiency in control simulation tools, specifically Matlab and Simulink.
• Advanced proficiency in both English and French.
• Interest in digitalization and big data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of automatic control systems.
• Understanding of various aircraft systems.
