About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of an assigned residential community to foster a positive living-learning environment.
  • Co-supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of 6–12 Resident Resources (R2s).
  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation to respond to emergencies, crises, and student concerns.
  • Support student well-being through conflict resolution and connection to campus resources.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation and other major campus initiatives.
  • Manage community and programming budgets and attend weekly professional staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Must be a matriculated graduate student.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and sound decision-making in emergency situations.
  • Commitment to equity, access, inclusion, belonging, and social justice.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, including extended hours during peak periods like orientation and move-in.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrollment in Counseling, Social Work, Higher Education Administration, or related graduate programs.
  • Prior experience as a Resident Assistant (RA), Community Advisor (CA), or in a comparable residential leadership role.
