Hadoop Developer

Responsibilities

• Design and build applications using the Big Data ecosystem
• Write efficient code to extract, transform, load, and query large datasets including unstructured data
• Develop standards and new design patterns for Big Data applications
• Build out and populate a data lake
• Formulate use cases from ambiguous business requirements
• Mentor and assist users in accessing data
• Manage data tracking, system documentation, and metadata capture

Requirements

• 2+ years of application development and implementation experience
• 1+ years of Hadoop experience
• 3+ years of UNIX experience
• 3+ years of Java experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related technological degree
• Experience with MapReduce, HDFS, Hive, or Pig
• Experience with Hortonworks, Cloudera, or MapR
• Experience building HBase, Spark, or Kafka solutions
• Knowledge of data warehouse, Teradata, Oracle, DB2, Agile, and ETL programming
• Hadoop developer certification
• Experience with large scale data warehousing and distributed computing
