About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software for a high-fidelity spacecraft simulation platform
  • Implement and improve software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations to validate flight algorithms
  • Develop and enhance Monte Carlo simulation tooling to assess system performance under various conditions
  • Incorporate physics-based models into the core simulation infrastructure
  • Develop analysis and visualization tools to provide insight into system performance
  • Support GNC operations for the satellite fleet, including on-console and on-call rotations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to model new systems and add features to the simulator

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent background
  • 2-5+ years of experience in software engineering or building simulations of complex physical systems
  • 2-5+ years of experience with Python or other high-level object-oriented programming languages
  • U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status (required for export control compliance)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of classical or modern control theory and basic orbital mechanics
  • Experience with C/C++ and knowledge of memory management or threading
  • Experience building and maintaining software infrastructure used across multiple teams
  • Experience with statistical analysis techniques and Monte Carlo simulations
  • Experience with spacecraft design or database management
  • Experience with AI tooling and agentic workflows
