About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software for a high-fidelity spacecraft simulation platform
- Implement and improve software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations to validate flight algorithms
- Develop and enhance Monte Carlo simulation tooling to assess system performance under various conditions
- Incorporate physics-based models into the core simulation infrastructure
- Develop analysis and visualization tools to provide insight into system performance
- Support GNC operations for the satellite fleet, including on-console and on-call rotations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to model new systems and add features to the simulator
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent background
- 2-5+ years of experience in software engineering or building simulations of complex physical systems
- 2-5+ years of experience with Python or other high-level object-oriented programming languages
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status (required for export control compliance)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of classical or modern control theory and basic orbital mechanics
- Experience with C/C++ and knowledge of memory management or threading
- Experience building and maintaining software infrastructure used across multiple teams
- Experience with statistical analysis techniques and Monte Carlo simulations
- Experience with spacecraft design or database management
- Experience with AI tooling and agentic workflows
