About the role
Responsibilities
- Define Guidance, Navigation, and Control mission requirements and ensure quality, traceability, and verification
- Execute design reviews, analyses, simulations, and system testing to meet customer expectations
- Develop and refine complex, nonlinear, 6 degrees of freedom simulation models using multidisciplinary data
- Design guidance and flight control laws using modern linear control design techniques
- Use software languages such as C, C++, FORTRAN, and Python to develop and test vehicle models and controllers
- Perform model validation against test data to improve simulation accuracy
- Support flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop development, and flight test planning and execution
- Coordinate autonomous air vehicle contingency management strategies across multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5 or more years of related work experience
- 3 or more years of experience specifically in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineering
- Experience using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX/Systembuild for aerospace system modeling
- Experience or familiarity with Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) or PID control design
- Must meet export control compliance requirements (U.S. Person status required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Computer Science minor
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship)
