Guidance Nav & Control Engineer

Responsibilities

• Gather, define, and document GNC mission requirements ensuring traceability from system to component level
• Develop and refine complex, nonlinear, 6 degrees of freedom simulation models using multidisciplinary data
• Support the design of flight control laws and tools to achieve performance targets
• Perform model validation against test data to improve simulation accuracy
• Develop supplementary controllers, limiters, mode logic, and signal shaping to bound performance within the flight envelope
• Support flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and actual flight testing
• Lead and resolve cross-divisional technical problems and guide less experienced engineers
• Perform complex trade studies to meet program requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
• 14 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Engineering with 12 or more years of related experience
• Experience with system and component modeling
• Experience implementing algorithms in real-time systems
• Proficiency in programming with C/C#
• Experience using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX
• Advanced coursework in Control Systems
