About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally-appropriate lesson plans for early literacy, numeracy, and social skills
- Collaborate with GSRP Associate Teachers to implement a team teaching model
- Utilize the Preschool Program Quality Assessment (PQA) and MDE Early Childhood Standards
- Conduct home visits to build partnerships with parents and caregivers
- Manage classroom environment using firm, fair, and consistent practices
- Use technology for instruction, record keeping, and administrative tasks
- Monitor and adhere to BCHS Child Care Licensing Rules
Requirements
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with ZA, ZS, ZN, or ZO endorsement
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development (major required)
- OR a bachelor's degree in elementary teaching with a valid preschool CDA (Birth-Prek CDA not accepted)
- Compliance with all DLARA BCHS requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency in using technology as an instructional and data analysis tool
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven exemplary work habits
