GSC Business Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage salaried group leaders in the implementation and execution of business processes within the Global Supply Chain organization.
• Coach, train, develop, and evaluate employees while fostering teamwork and cooperation.
• Maintain quality standards and communicate department goals to solve quality issues.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees, union representatives, and management.
• Administer National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the UAW.
• Implement systems to prevent the reoccurrence of known issues and promote safe work practices.
• Achieve production schedules using lean manufacturing and synchronous principles.
• Manage material availability and flow from dock to line to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Lead safety walks, audits, and incident investigations to ensure timely corrective actions.
• Use data-driven problem-solving methods such as Root Cause, 5-Why, and PFMEA/MFMEA.

Requirements

• 4 years of experience working in an Automotive Assembly Plant.
• Proven leadership or management experience (UAW, Salaried, or Skilled Trades).
• Knowledge of continuous improvement processes (CIP).
• Ability to rotate between all three shifts.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an Automotive Assembly Plant (OEM).
• Experience or knowledge of the GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS).
• Experience in Global Supply Chain operations.
• Experience applying quality processes to support Built-In Quality (BIQ).
• Bachelor’s Degree.
