Group Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Assess, calculate, and specify conditions for accepting risk for prospective and in-force customers
• Review and analyze risk criteria, demographic data, financial data, and rating formulas
• Formulate pricing decisions and negotiate within assigned authority limits
• Create accurate offers, standard experience reports, evaluations, and projections for assigned accounts
• Maintain updated records and case files in accordance with underwriting policies and procedures
• Communicate underwriting decisions and collaborate with internal partners

Requirements

• 2+ years of Group Life and/or Disability insurance experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
