Group Manager (Software Engineering Manager)

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the backend technical vision and architectural roadmap
• Lead the global "Community of Practice" for backend engineering to establish standards and best practices
• Manage and mentor engineers, driving performance reviews and career development
• Oversee technical excellence by enforcing coding, testing, and security protocols
• Collaborate with the ART Trio to ensure optimal resource allocation across squads
• Drive operational excellence by improving high availability, observability, and reliability of services
• Balance feature delivery with long-term technical health and the reduction of technical debt

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 12-15 years of overall professional experience
• 4-6 years of experience in people management and leading technical teams
• 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience using C# and .NET
• Deep expertise in microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud-native principles and services
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Docker
• Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or matrix organization
• Knowledge of the aviation domain, including airline operations or flight planning
• Experience building mission-critical software requiring high availability and safety
