Group Manager in Metallurgy

About the Company

Swerim is a metal research institute conducting industry-oriented research and development regarding metals and their journey from raw material to finished product. With approximately 200 employees, we work with process metallurgy, process integration, heating, processing, and environmental and energy technology to contribute to a more sustainable industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 10-12 researchers and experts
• Develop research, business, and employees within the metallurgy area
• Drive industry-oriented projects in environment, energy, and metallurgy
• Support the expansion of the field towards hydrometallurgy and batteries
• Initiate, generate, and execute research projects
• Collaborate with companies, public actors, universities, and colleges
• Work strategically on business development and future investments

Requirements

• Experienced leader with senior competence in a relevant field
• Background in research and development, preferably from industry or research institutes
• Ability to initiate and drive research projects
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Strategic mindset focused on business development
• Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in personnel and work environment responsibility
• Established industrial network within the metallurgy sector
